SCARECROWS COMING SEPTEMBER 26

This year we'll have scarecrows in four categories:

1)  BUSINESSES & MERCHANTS
2)  SCHOOLS & TEAMS
3)  NONPROFITS & CLUBS
4)  FAMILIES, NEIGHBORHOODS & INDIVIDUALS

Our traditional scarecrow contest in Historic Roswell is a fundraiser - benefiting Education & Nonprofits in North Fulton.

Design your scarecrow for family-friendly viewing and be ready to install on or near your designated lamppost on September 26! Scarecrows will be on display for the month of October for all to enjoy.

Voting will take place from October 1 to October 29.  Remember, we will use DONATE2VOTE to choose our winners Look for more details on voting October 1.

Cash prizes will be awarded for the top scarecrow in each category!

Winners announced on Facebook - Thursday, October 30 and will be posted on RoswellWomansClub.org

Scarecrow Guidelines:

  • NEW IN 2025: Roswell Woman’s Club will create and attach an 8.5 x 11 inch sign for each Scarecrow. Participants will provide the name of the scarecrow and the builder (created by) upon signup.
  • NO HAY BALES ALLOWED.
  • All scarecrows are to be 4-6 feet high. Participants must use designated lampposts along Canton Street, not traffic signs or utility poles.
  • Scarecrows must be placed along Canton Street from Magnolia Street to Woodstock Road on or near the correct numbered lamppost.
  • Scarecrows must be suitable for viewing by children. Roswell Woman's Club reserves the right to refuse any entry.
  • Scarecrows in poor taste for family viewing, depicting controversial subjects, or overtly commercial or political in nature will not be accepted and will be removed.
  • Scarecrows must be installed by those entering no earlier than September 26 and taken down by those entering no later than November 1.
  • No scarecrow may impede traffic on the streets or pedestrians on the sidewalks.
  • No additional pamphlets or handouts are to be displayed with your scarecrow.
  • Scarecrows must be able to withstand the elements. Any scarecrow that falls down will be removed.
  • Participant acknowledges and gives consent to Roswell Woman's Club to use any and all print/electronic media that result from participation in this event.
  • Roswell Woman's Club - Visit Roswell - and the City of Roswell are not responsible for any damage to any scarecrow while on display.
  • Participant is responsible for maintaining their own scarecrow throughout the entire event.
  • Participant is responsible for removing scarecrow by November 1.
  • Any scarecrow that isn’t in compliance with these rules will be removed.
